Gold Tone brings back the high-quality, low-priced beginner Bluegrass banjo! The AC-5 combines full-range sound, super playability and outstanding durability. The sound is due in no small measure to the AC-5's modern composite shell. This strong, resonant material is light in weight but high in stiffness and trouble-free. Coupled with the resonator back, the AC-5 produces a punchy fourth-string bark and clear ringing high notes. You can't find a better first banjo.
Like its cousin the AC-1 (proclaimed "Best in Show / MUST Stock" instrument at the 2016 Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, Tennessee), the Gold Tone AC-4 is an economical, durable and great-sounding 19 fret beginner tenor banjo. Designed for the tenor banjoist. The AC-4 features our snappy-sounding composite rim, mated to a slim and easy-playing neck that's equipped with Gold Tone's patented Zero Glide nut. The AC-4 weighs in at LESS THAN FOUR POUNDS and is the perfect choice for beginners, for travel use or for a child's first banjo. Can be tuned Irish GDAE, Jazz CGDA or Chicago DGBE.
