The Americana is the first 5-string banjo from Deering to be fitted with their new Grand 12” rim, which gives the banjo a stronger bass response and a much warmer tone. The Deering Goodtime Leader ‘Carolina King’ is our top of the range, highest specification Goodtime ‘Special’ Banjo, primarily designed for hard driving bluegrass and picking styles. The set-up on this banjo is influenced by the Carolina King himself, Jens Kruger! It is an excellent natural maple closed back resonator banjo fitted with the NEW Deering patent pending 2010 tone ring. It has Deering railroad capo spikes fitted at the 7th, 9th and 10th frets to facilitate easy key changes for different tunings.
