Description

Gold Tones best acoustic tenor guitar features a solid spruce top for true vintage-style tone to go along with the TG-18's authentic 1930s vibe. The mahogany body is sized right in between those of the pre-WW ll tenor guitars (from Pennsylvania and Michigan) in order to increase the TG-18's low-end punch.

Just got the guitar, but very good first impressions – I really like it. Feels nice to play and has a good tone. I already play guitar, mandolin and octave mandolin, and I think the tenor guitar in traditional CGDA tuning (same as the tenor banjo, mandola and viola) is a versatile and great-sounding addition to my range of instruments. Comes with a Gold Tone gig bag. Note that it doesn't have an end pin strap button, so if you want to use a strap, you could either ask Eagle Music Shop about fitting an end pin, or use a classical guitar lanyard-style strap.

I bought the guitar for personal and session use. It feels very solid and the neck thickness suits me perfectly. I can't judge this against any other tenor guitars though as this is my first one.
This is a fairly quiet instrument and I've not yet had a chance to see how it copes in a session. I am extremely happy with the tone though and have grown to love it already.
