Solo tuning in a 10-hole format: the ORCHESTRA S is the perfect melody instrument in a compact size.
Play all the notes of the major scale over two and a half octaves in the familiar 10-hole format. The ORCHESTRA S offers even more: instead of starting on the root note, it begins a half octave lower. Blues harmonicas tuned to Richter tuning lack some notes of the scale in the lower register that are present on the ORCHESTRA S. These can be played as usual without having to bend them down. The root note of the major scale is marked with a cap mark – this is where the major scale begins (3 bubbles).

This makes the ORCHESTRA S a compact melodic instrument , allowing you to take your favorite songs anywhere. The note layout is the same as on chromatic harmonicas, making the ORCHESTRA S also very well suited for learning the chromatic playing concept .
Blues harmonica players will also find plenty to enjoy, as the Orchestra S plays beautifully in minor keys (3rd position) and, thanks to its solo tuning, sounds very similar to a chromatic harmonica. Extending the scale below the root note opens up fantastic possibilities for improvisation across the entire blues progression (one draw corresponds to the second position, i.e., the root note of the dominant). Furthermore, all the notes of the blues scale are available or can be reached with bending – ideal for soulful improvisations in minor keys.
