Description

In 1988 musician Bryan Paige put his tool and die background to use in constructing a guitar capo that would suit his needs. An ultra thin, controlled center tension capo that moved quickly and easily, stored on the instrument and didn't pull the strings out of tune.
Entirely manufactured in a small Southern Michigan community, what began as a product for his own personal use quickly extended to an intimate network of local musicians and close friends. All of whom had never seen a design quite so innovative or efficient. It was in the first phases of production that The Paige Capo underwent several changes. First made in stainless high-polished steel and then in brass, Paige was motivated to explore all material alternatives that maintained the integrity and strength of the capo, eventually finding plated steel to be the most effectual.
In 1989, when Paige made the decision to advertise publicly, he did not initially anticipate the popularity of the lucrative potential of the product. Introduced to the market as a capo highly associated with the bluegrass genre, it quickly extended it's appeal through an interest of musically diverse artists searching for a capo with the qualities the Paige Capo offered.
In 2004 the Paige Capo received the award for Acoustic Guitar Players' Choice.
