A truly stunning Bouzouki from excellent British luthier ...Thomas Buchanan.
The 'Flat Top Birds Eye Maple' Bouzouki has a solid spruce soundboard with a neat inlaid soundhole rosette, solid maple back and sides, rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot markers and a mahogany neck. The rosewood pin bridge has a bone saddle for maximum transmission of sound.

Description

This instrument is finely appointed with grade 'AAA' solid timbers and fine workmanship including a Buchannan custom designed rosette and truss rod cover, multiple hardwood side binding, rosewood heel cap, and white fingerboard side top position markers. The headstock is faced in rosewood with the Buchanan insignia. The mahogany neck is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard and inlaid with mother of pearl dot markers.

It has a solid European spruce soundboard with a solid birds eye maple back and sides.

The instrument is double (unison) strung.

Brought over to Ireland from Greece. The fingerboards widened, built with a flat back and given unison stringing gives you one of the most popular instruments in folk music today. The Irish flatback Bouzouki. Made famous by great players like Donnal Lunny, The long scale is great for producing the rhythms you'll find in much of celtic music today
