The Deering Vega Long Neck is made with Deering's hand made, classic Tubaphone tone-ring. The solid brass bracket band is hand fitted to the violin grade three-ply rim. This pot design gives the Vega Long Neck Banjo a round full tone that sustains with a pure and clear sparkle.

The Long Neck 5-string banjo was made popular in the 1960s by the big daddies of Long Neck banjo playing ...Pete Seeger and Dave Guard (Kingston Trio). Excellent in it's low open tuning for song accompaniment and versatile when a capo is fitted for standard banjo tunings. (you apply a capo to the third fret of this banjo and then play it the same as a standard 'G' banjo)
The Deering Vega Long Neck banjo has 3 ply maple rim, brass bracket band with nickel plated shoes, traditional Vega neck shape, ebony fingerboard, with mother of pearl traditional inlays.
The Deering Vega Long Neck has a 25 fret fingerboard and is tuned in the open position to E, A, E, G#, B. This is a superb sounding banjo with a deep crisp tone from the Tubaphone tone-ring.
Finish: Walnut stained natural maple.
Please Note: Banjo fingerboard spikes can be fitted as required, either as a custom order or in our Eagle workshops.
Each banjo we supply is individually set up in our on-site Banjo Specialist Workshop here at Eagle Music. Any Banjo purchased from Eagle will be fully SET UP, checked for intonation and playability and tuned ready for playing straight out of the box!
