This is a classic Gibson A-style copy mandolin.It is the classic F-hole with a select spruce soundboard top.It has a clear bright sound with fair acoustic projection,but comes into it’s own when plugged-in on-stage. Supplied with padded gig bag.

A delight for the eyes and ears! The Eastman 815PGE-HB features a solid hand-carved Adirondack spruce top for outstanding volume and tone. Features include highly flamed solid hand-carved maple back & sides, ebony fretboard & bridge, bone nut, fully bound body,fretboard & headstock. The MD815PGE-HB has a high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. 

The "PGE" stands for "Professional Grade Edition." It signifies that this particular model is part of Eastman's lineup of mandolins designed for professional musicians and advanced players. The PGE designation often indicates a higher level of craftsmanship, materials, and attention to detail, resulting in an instrument that delivers exceptional sound and performance.

The Barnes & Mullin Salvino mandolin is a classic, F-style scroll top mandolin named after a recently uncovered 'Salvino' model from the turn of the 20th century.

Featuring a dark stained solid mahogany top and corresponding dark stained solid maple back and sides, the Salvino mandolin delivers a rich and warm tone with focus and clarity.

Commonly played by professional mandolin players, F-style mandolins feature an upper body scroll and scrolled headstock – making them aesthetically distinctive from A-style mandolins. Their more elaborate body and headstock design naturally uses more tonewood materials and requires a greater level of craftmanship.

There is little discernible difference in the sound produced compared to A-style mandolins. However, F-style mandolins are ever so slightly more resonant due to their larger body chamber and tonewood area are historically favoured for bluegrass music, as they are considered to have more 'cut-through' in a ensemble situation.

Northfield Wavelength Short Scale Octave Mandola. For the mandolin player who wants that octave mandola tone without the stretch. Traditionally octaves usually have a scale length of around 21-22", the Northfield Wavelength is 19". This means the gauges are slightly heavier than normal to get the tension at that shorter scale length.
