The Roanoke combines a slightly more ornate peghead overlay with the rich color of walnut and the simplicity of a nickel-plated banjo. The striking, figured walnut resonator with its contrasting inlaid wood rings makes for an instrument that is as much a treat for the eyes as it is the ears.

The walnut neck imparts a sweet tone with a clarity which only walnut can give. Both the neck and the resonator are stained with a natural walnut finish and bound in white/black/white. The neck is inlaid with the original Huber pattern and the pot is built using the Huber Engineered rim and the Huber HR-30 tone ring.

The Deering Goodtime Leader ‘Carolina King’ is our top of the range, highest specification Goodtime ‘Special’ Banjo, primarily designed for hard driving bluegrass and picking styles. The set-up on this banjo is influenced by the Carolina King himself, Jens Kruger! It is an excellent natural maple closed back resonator banjo fitted with the NEW Deering patent pending 2010 tone ring. It has Deering railroad capo spikes fitted at the 7th, 9th and 10th frets to facilitate easy key changes for different tunings. The tailpiece is a ‘Gibson-style’ clamshell type and the 22 nickel silver frets are perfectly fitted and polished for smooth playing. A little piece of history. This used vintage Vega Tubaphone M Style 17-fret tenor banjo was made in the USA in 1923.

It features a 12'' pot , an ebony fingerboard with minor fretwear and elegant Vega inlays.

This vintage instrument is in excellent condition for its age and is supplied with an original but functional hard case.
