That is especially helpful for me as a person with a learning difficulty that manifests mainly in well-below average mental processing speed.
At this current juncture, with my Tenor Ukulele, I can focus on keeping rhythm on Bluegrass standards, gaining a greater sense of being a part of the band with the simpler chord arrangements than the more vast array of chords used at a songwriting workshop I attend weekly.
Some of the 5-string banjo techniques are not practicable on the non-metalic strinks of a Uke, but when I feel ready to address those techniques such as slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, etc, I'll consider buying a 5-string Banjo.
