The Northfield 'Big Mon' F5 Mandolin is enlarged slightly from the standard Northfield F5 style and tuned for a very responsive and rich sound.

Choose between 3 spruce top options, Engelmann, Adirondack and Special Italian spruce.

As well as 3 colours, standard sunburst, Icelandic brown amber or black top with sunburst back, sides and neck.

Also choose from a standard nut width of 1 1/8" or a wide nut of 1/3/16"

This quality tenor mandola features our distinctive Celtic knot sound hole, a design that is picked up by matching wooden fingerboard inlays. It is made of solid wood construction with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides and fitted with a diecast tailpiece. The mandola has a satin finish which enhances the natural beauty of the wood and a mahogany neck with 20 fret fingerboard. Chrome machine heads with perloid buttons make tuning easy.

Northfield Wavelength Short Scale Octave Mandola. For the mandolin player who wants that octave mandola tone without the stretch. Traditionally octaves usually have a scale length of around 21-22", the Northfield Wavelength is 19". This means the gauges are slightly heavier than normal to get the tension at that shorter scale length.
