During the late eighty's, The Pipers' Club in Dublin produced, on behalf of the Brooks Academy set dancing school, six tapes of cracking set dance music. The musicians (not just pipers) were naturally of a high calibre and thus inspired this set of two books, The Yellow Book and The Blue Book, which between them contain all 212 tunes from those tapes. Arranged in the same running order as the tapes, this is an excellent way of getting the feel for playing for dancing, as well as acquiring a wide-ranging repertoire of music. Slides and polkas feature heavily. Chords have been added throughout plus classified and alphabetical (with alternative titles) indexes and bibliography. These two books have a really unique character, well worth investigating.
