The ‘Leveller’ is of one of the mid range open back maple models in the Griffin range, it is built to exacting tolerances and has a fast action neck as found on all ‘Griffin Banjos’. The full bodied tone is excellent for frailing and clawhammer styles.
The build quality and specification is as follows:-
- Rim …Hand built thick ¾” block maple rim ebony faced and inlaid with intricate marquetry design
- Tone ring …Nickel plated brass
- Tension hoop … Solid brass, nickel plated in the traditional style
- Twin adjustable ‘Griffin’ polished stainless steek rim rods
- Tailpiece …Unique ‘Griffin’ design in polished stainless steel
- Head …Renaissance 11”
- Neck …rock maple with a central ebony veneer, fitted with a solid ebony fingerboard. Mother of pearl dots and inlay
- Headstock …Ebony faced with MOP ‘Griffin’ logos
