From Ozark Professional instruments ... A much sought after instrument by tenor banjoists and guitar players wanting a different sound . This Ozark model plays well and has a sweet tone. Tenor guitars are usually tuned in fifths (usually CGDA, similar to the tenor banjo or the viola), This tuning is very "open" and it gives the instrument unusual voicing from both open and closed chords. The fifths tuning also makes for easy moveable chord shapes. The instrument is equally well suited to both rhythm and lead playing. Other tunings are possible, such as "guitar tuning" or "Chicago tuning" DGBE, "Irish" or "octave mandolin" tuning GDAE various "open" tunings, for slide playing and modal tunings. A Fishman pickup with an endpin jack socket can be fitted to your guitar (see choice options).

More information on tenor guitars ...

Tenor guitars were manufactured continuously by Gibson and Martin from the 1920s until the 1970s. National Instruments also made significant numbers of resonator tenor and plectrum guitars between the 1920s and 1940s, some of which were also used by jazz musicians as a second instrument. Dobro, another company formed by the Dopyera Brothers, as well as National Instruments, also built resonator tenor guitars.

I cannot emphasise how happy I am with this Guitar,. I opted for GDAE tuning, and was happy to see it came with a set-up. It is light to hold, and easy to balance. I find the neck very comfortable. It is a small body so the volume reflects this, but it is completely suited for my use. I have already broke a string (due to user error) and changing was simple, nothing fiddly to worry about.

Loving my new Ozark tenor. This is the second guitar of the same model I've purchased. Bought one second hand from a friend last year and love it so much I wanted to buy another, to have in different tuning. Easy to play, sweet, full, warm sound...
