So, you’ve narrowed down your choice, and you want to start playing steel strung Tenor Guitar.

The four strings of the tenor guitar are tuned to C G D A the same as a jazz strung tenor banjo. Players that want to play Irish music tune the tenor guitar to G D A E which is an octave below fiddle tuning.
