Banjo Capos ...come in two different types, this is because the 5-string banjo has an octave 5th string that starts adjacent the fifth fret. You need two capos for a 5-string banjo.
One capo is the type to 'capo' the first four strings at specific fret positions. The second capo is what is called a 'fifth string' capo. There are different types of fifth string capos. The popular Shubb is fixed to the side of the banjo neck with tiny screws. The 'Eagle Claw' capo has spring-wire arms that clip around the fifth string tuner then clamp down on the fifth string. Railroad 'Spikes' are fitted to the banjo fingerboard at specific fret positions (the fifth string then clips under the spike)
Please Note: For capos for six string banjo, please follow the link here to 'Guitar Capos'.
