This Stan Harper 56 hole harmonica is special in that it starts on a lower 'G' note enabling you to play classical music without having to use a bigger 64 note harmonica. Stan Harper, the great harmonica virtuoso asked Hering to make the 56 hole harmonica with this concept in mind.

On a 'C' Stan Harper the notes are as follows:-

The first and second holes are not numbered ...but play the following notes ...

1st hole Blow G, 1st hole draw A, 2nd hole blow C, 2nd hole draw B,

The third hole onwards are numered from 1 to 12

The 'third hole' is numberd 1, and plays C on the blow and D on the draw

The 'fourth hole' is numbered 2, and plays E on the blow and F on the draw

the holes then play as a normal chromatic up to the '14th hole' which iis hole number 12
