The Vega Old Tyme Wonder is a sweet toned, medium weight banjo that is easy to play, adjust and maintain. The 3-ply rock maple rim, fiberskyn head and classic NO Knot tailpiece gives a full bodied sound making it ideal for old time, clawhammer and frailing styles. (The bottom five fret wires are removed, the fingerboard is scooped out to allow the fingers to play in this position)

Modestly priced and created with the same Deering low neck profile noted for comfort and an ease of playability the polished and scooped ebony fingerboard enhances the style of 'near the neck' playing that is favoured by Old Tyme players. The lighter weight of the Vega Old Tyme Wonder more than meets the demands of professional tone and the ease of adjust-ability of the single coordinator rod and truss rod to set the "action" make it a combination that is hard to beat!

The responsive Vega Old Tyme Wonder - Planetary Tuner Model has been up-graded with Deering nickel plated planetary tuners, a geared fifth string tuner, a black peghead overlay with white Vega letters, mother of pearl dots on the scooped ebony fingerboard, and a satin finish.

The pot assembly is constructed with a premium quality 3-ply rock maple rim, nickel-plated hardware, strong brackets shoe construction, a 24-piece flange, a Fiberskyn head, one piece Vega armrest, and a classic No Knot tailpiece. All of these elements combine to make this a versatile open-back banjo, with a classic solid Old Time sound. Also a pleasing banjo for other styles of banjo playing alike.
