 In the beginners section Derek demonstrates the basic skills of button accordion playing using easy, slow paced tunes. Topics covered over the 17 tunes include notes and scales, easy airs, jigs and reels, cuts, rolls and triplets, sliding techniques and ornamentation.  The advanced section features 16 jigs and reels that are more highly ornamented. Polkas, slides and hornpipes are also explained. Other topics covered include minor keys, octave triplets, chromatic triplets and slides and single note triplets.
