It has a compact body shape and an affordable price tag when you consider that the guitar is a USA ‘Martin’ all solid timber guitar. The Body Assembly… The back and sides are built from solid mahogany. The back is two-piece. The soundboard (top) is built from solid mahogany with ‘A-Frame’ X-Bracing. The round sound-hole has a rosette decal in the ‘Martin’ single band herringbone pattern. It has a fixed pin type rosewood bridge with a compensated ‘Micarta’ saddle. The bridge pins are white with tortoise dots. An imitation tortoiseshell scratchplate is fitted in the distinctive ‘Martin’ shape. The Neck Assembly… The mahogany neck has an internally fitted adjustable truss rod. The rosewood fingerboard is fitted with twenty nickel silver frets precisely positioned, honed and polished. Pearl dot markers (style 28) are inlaid at the 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th & 17th frets …small side position marker dots are inlaid in side of the fingerboard at the same positions. The precisely cut nut is made from white Corian. The headstock is the familiar ‘Martin’ design that is found on most ‘Martin’ guitars, it is faced with solid rosewood and the ‘Martin’ script insignia is written in gold. The truss rod is adjusted from inside the sound hole. A set of single chrome ‘Martin’ die-cast machine heads with chrome buttons are fitted for positive, trouble free tuning.
