Thank you for prompt delivery of the Hohner CX-12 'tenor C' harmonica, safely received. Super instrument, the plastic feel takes a little getting used to but in no way derogatory ; it's warm to the lips and the low register volume and timbre is impressive for such a small instrument and surprisingly responsive. The change from a chrome model does require practice but it's a rewarding process The construction is novel and practical, the whole thing good quality throughout. I hope you don't mind but I feel compelled to write and thank you and the guys in the workshop for setting up the Mandolin perfectly. I have been a guitar player for many years and have now felt the urge to learn a new instrument. Having scoured the Internet only to find a cheap Stagg left handed Mandolin I was pleasantly surprised to find the Ozark on your website. I think the Ozark Mandolin is the perfect place to start learning, looks and sounds fantastic. The package you put together is perfect tuner, strap, case, spare strings and even plectrums and a book what a great deal! I would have no hesitation in recommending Eagle music to my friends, the service is second to none. I have my eye on a left handed Bouzouki for my next purchase and I know exactly where its coming from... please don't put the price up! Re. Artec Pre-Amp/EQ Pedal.  Gigged with it for the first time last night - ran a Fishman Neo D Humbucker through it. Brilliant. It was most definitely an acoustic guitar that was coming through it, lost very little of the guitars natural sound but 'beefed it up' really well. Considering the price I am really impressed with this little piece of kit. And the service was great too. I'll be recommending you to whoever will listen.

So, I inherited my dad's banjo. It's nearly a hundred years old and has travelled around the world, been battered and abused and needed restringing. Reversing the logical order, I bought Irish Tenor strings and promptly broke one, THEN I had the Damascus moment and asked Eagle Music for advice. The correct strings are on their way as I write. There is a lot of expertise at Eagle and they are more than happy to share it with the likes of me. I, for one, am very grateful.

I have just had the pleasure of buying a Mainland Classic Mahogany Tenor Ukulele from Eagle Music. It's an amazing uke that sounds and looks beautiful. Hi, just to say thanks. I ordered my stuff on Friday afternoon and it was in my hand by Saturday mid-morning. You don't hang around! The finger picks are nothing short of brilliant, they actually feel as if my own nails are hitting the strings. I have accumulated over the years a small collection of metal and plastic picks that I no longer attempt to use, but these aLasKa plastics felt perfect from my first couple of attempts with them. I have to say that I feel I've betrayed an old friend. My guitar tuner has been a crutch for me when tuning up for about thirty years. It still works perfectly, but was of little use with the banjo and mandolin. The FT-800 clip on has made it effectively redundant. Being of a cautious (paranoid?) nature, I checked the new tuner against the old and they matched perfectly, but I now cast sorry, guilty glances at my old, bulky tuner because the new one is easier and better. Incidentally the guitar tuner cost about £30 some three decades ago and the new one only a third of the price (thanks to your special offer). Again, many thanks I'm impressed. Dear Steve, Deering waiting for me on return from hydrotherapy; it is difficult to adequately express my gratitude at being able to make music again, particularly having been largely bedridden for the last 4-years. The Deering is a revelation: the action is so light - goodbye problems with barre chords - and the tone sweet. Thank you for such helpful and beneficial advice. Having played the guitar for over 30-years, the struggle to do so since the accident has been really demoralising; now I have a new instrument which I can play properly, including when laying down, to become completely obsessive about! Dear Steve & Team I just wanted to write and say thank you for a fantastic day at the Banjo 5 event on Saturday. It was the first time I have been to an event like it and I found it a hugely entertaining and rewarding afternoon. The venue was perfect, everyone was friendly and helpful and it was great to have so much stuff on display. The workshops were not only a treat in themselves but also very inspiring too: the Kruger Brothers musical mastery was matched by their simple yet thoughtful advice and having Greg and Janet Deering available to chat to about my banjo was invaluable. I asked Greg to take a look at the inlay on my Saratoga Star, which he did willingly, and then he just started adjusting the rest of my set up too without me even asking him, which was just fantastic. My only regret is that I could only stay for the daytime only. I hope you intend to host another one of these events because, if so, I will make sure I stay for the whole duration. I have recently purchased the Deering Starter Pack. I have to say that i have dealt with many a musicshop in my time but the service received by Eagle Music tops them all. After purchase i was contacted by the Staff at regular intervals to keep me up to date with what was happenening and when to expect my purchase. This in itself is a rareity as once shop usually have your money they dont care. The Eagle Music guys care, every step of the way...i would even consider driving the 80 or so miles to the shop to havemy banjo serviced or just to pop in to spend some money...please do use these guys...they are amazing

The Ozark 2109G banjo supplied by Eagle Music is exceptional value for money. Communication with Eagle Music was excellent, as was packing and delivery. The Ozark 2109G arrived quickly, was beautifully set up and was also in perfect tune! I purchased the banjo primarily to play clawhammer and it plays and sounds great. As a bonus it plays and sounds just as good as a bluegrass banjo which suits me well. It is lighter to handle and sounds a little more mellow. I am now in my 70’s and no longer jam with other players. I found the banjo easy and most enjoyable to play. I would recommend the Ozark 2109G for any style of picking as it has a lovely tone.

Attention Steve. Steve- a few weeks ago you set up my Ozark and removed the 5th tuner and tightened the head on my Fender F58. Just a quick report back to say that the whole band commented on how much better the Fender sounds, and my own comment on the Ozark is that you have transformed the instrument. Thanks. As a (has been) engineer, may I put forward a suggestion for a product. It grates on me when a spinner is used to tighten all the nuts holding down a banjo skin- watch Greg Deering's video (I'm sure you have!) Not so bad on chrome which is hard, but not ideal for othe platings. What about a plastic socket. I use the word plastic generically. For strength it would have to be perhaps hardened nylon with composite fibres incorporated for strength. Feel free to use. Thanks also to everybody in the shop for help and making me feel welcome. Steve, The Eagle has landed - in my house. It looks gorgeous. The photos don't do it justice. The neck is great. It's a bit too loud for some practice times, so I was wondering if I could take the resonator off and put small cushion or suchlike inside?  I'm getting a phenomenal tone. Definitely the best-quality banjo I've ever owned, and I've had some really good banjos. The whole instrument sings beautifully. I can't imagine the more expensive Deering banjos sound any better. During a visit to your shop today I purchased a Tanglewood Mandolin. I would like to thank you for the time and courtesy extended to me during my visit. Although I have never played mandolin and I was only interested in an entry level instrument I never felt intimidated and was provided with excellent advice. Eagle music was not the first shop I visited with a view to purchasing an instrument but within a few moments of meeting your staff the decision was not whether to buy a mandolin but which one. On arriving home and after spending some time on the instrument it has become apparent that the set up is excellent. I wish my guitars played as well straight from the shop. I am already managing to play one of the tunes out of the book I was advised to purchase and am subsequently hooked. I will shortly be in the Market for a good quality acoustic guitar and Eagle Music will be top of my list to visit, that's provided I don't decide one of the lovely hand built Mandolins you showed me don't become more appealing. Hi Steve Received the ‘jo back on Friday. Thank you very much for the note and the customer care. It is playing beautifully with the lighter strings. All I can think is that now that after 7 months playing the instrument, I have become more attuned to it and the lighter strings do not pose the same sensitivity problems that they did when I first started out with it. Hi Jules, I have already been able to dismantle my banjo and fit the new fiberskin head and set of strings. This was an interesting experience, although I did know what was involved as before I started I had watched Greg Deering's DVD where he dismantled/re-assembled his banjo on your stage) At was all worthwhile as it is like having a new banjo with excellent tone and a bright crisp sound.. I would certainly recommend this DVD to anyone who had to replace their banjo head.

To no avail of course - being of US specification didn't help and not being able to exactly describe/define the screw meant that buying online was going to be a bit of trial and error with me no doubt ending up with many packets of many screws that wouldn't fit! Needless to say yours fitted perfectly - and of course matched the the screws in the other pegs. The guys on the Banjo Hangout were very helpful tho', and it was someone there who recommended my calling you. I made a point of telling the forum that you had come up trumps so Eagle Music's good customer service will have been widely noted! Emma, Just to say my order of an Ozark 2109 and case arrived safely today. All very well packed. Many thanks to you and the team. I bought this banjo as a cheap travel banjo and general 'knock about', without really knowing much about it I have to confess. Boy, was I surprised. She is a little beauty. Well set up, and pretty good build quality for the price; only needed a slight tuning tweak straight out of the box, and sounds delightful. Really clear note separation, good sustain and a sweet tone. Lovely to play. Sounds way better than my Goldtone WL I have to say (reluctantly). Even my wife straightaway remarked that she loved the sound of it, without me even prompting for a comment! An acolade indeed! I even like the guitar tuners on it (always having preferred planetaries) after just one evening of switching tunings, so much so I am now thinking of asking Jason Romero to change the spec on the custom he is building for me to a slot head. Hi Guys, I just wanted to drop you a quick line.........I received the banjo yesterday (beautifully packaged) and I wanted to say a big thank you! Firstly for all your help (and patience) on the phone and secondly because I am absolutely delighted with the instrument. After the lemon I managed to pick up on e-bay (!) I now have a great looking and sounding banjo that doesn't require a vice like grip in the left hand just to get the strings down!! The difference is like night and day, and I'm only sorry I didn't come to you in the first place......lesson learned. AS a professional jazz trumpeter I know zilch about ukuleles, but wanted one for fun. With out any pressure or sales pitch Steve sold me a Kahuna Concert which is fabulous - great intonation; a mellow sweet sound and incredible sustain and projection. I haven't been able to put it down, so I've just bought a Kahuna tenor uke from him so other members of family can play! Ozark bouzouki, great instrument for under £100 from Eagle Music. I've had mine for a while now & I've had as much fun with this instrument as with anything I play. Although not like playing a cittern or somethig equally sophisticated, it still turns heads in sessions where the dominant instruments are guitars & it sounds great against quite expensive other kit. No one would claim a beautiful playing action in an instrument at this price, but its far from hard work and the sound is both loud and fullish in tone. The only reason I didn't give the starterpack 5 is I wish the gig bag were a better fit, I feel I have to pad out the end. But it would be difficult to find an off the shelf bag to fit, so perhaps it should be four & three quarters

I recently purchased a Hohner Compadre from Eagle Music Shop and I am very pleased with it. I have played a Hohner Corona 111 now for some 34 years originally for Morris but for the last 28 years I have regularly played in sessions, for country dance and the odd concert with a fiddler who enjoys playing many tunes in A. It was my only box for many years, I then purchased a Saltarelle Irish Bouebe DG And a few years ago a Castagnari Lily DG as well for a variety in tone weight and voice. It became obvious recently that the Corona 111 would need either a reduction in workload or major work to prolong its useful life. So I went looking for a reserve ADG three row and found the Hohner Compadre and decided to buy it to take hard work off the old Corona 111 I, and the fiddler I play with, have been very pleasantly surprised in the quality of the sound it produces. I am also happy with the action, the finish may be a bit basic but along with the carrying holdall I think it provide a package that is excellent value for money. The only minor niggles for me are the thumb strap that is fixed with two rivets that makes it difficult to swivel round when not in use and the shoulder strap that is webbing and rather bulky and fussy to adjust but adequate and comfortable enough in use. I have no hesitation in recommending this box anyone who needs the ADG range either as a first or reserve box at a very competitive and reasonable cost. Philip Beamont Cornwall.

Dear Rachel, Can you please pass on our thanks to your Dad and all of your team for a fantastic day out at Eagle Music. Three years ago, my son Richard, who has a girlfriend Julie, from Anderson, South Carolina, introduced me to the music of the Kruger Brothers. Julie’s parents always go the Carolina in the Fall concerts in October, and invited Richard along to meet the Krugers on two previous occasions. He was so smitten by the band that he brought me numerous CD’s and I also became hooked. Jens has invited Ric to his house after the “Fall Concert” to a party and “do some music”!!!. Richard is an accomplished guitarist and has a band made up from 3 other College/University friends who play mainly now for the fun, or to raise money for local charities. Having graduated, they are all now fully employed as a BMW executive, medical scientist, language teacher and media expert. They helped me raise over £2,000 last weekend to help restore the local Youth Club, that had been vandalised. Their contribution was to learn and then play over two hours of “Sixties” music at the fund raiser. Back to the weekend. The venue was excellent, the organisation first class, and a great bunch of people all sharing their love of live music. The Kruger Brothers are without doubt a band full of “musical genius”. It goes without saying that the audiences during the workshops and during the evening were left “gob smacked” by their musical skill, knowledge, humour and also humility. You could not wish to meet three nicer guys. Can I also pay tribute to the Howard Brothers, who were a superb support band. Obviously from the website, and their professionalism, it is clear they are all experienced and accomplished musicians. Tim Howard, set the tone of the evening with excellent singing, real “Yorkshire Humour” and demonstrated great skill in playing two of his wide range of musical instruments. The informal talk by Greg and Janet Dearing was really interesting and very inspiring. To have such a wealth of knowledge, vast array of superb instruments available for playing, excellent workshop tutors made booking for the day worthwhile. I hope that we see more of the Krugers, as word will surely spread like wildfire, and that we are informed via e-mail, or through your excellent website of further Workshops/Concerts. Again, many thanks for a brilliant day, Tony and Richard Bostock.

The whole event was I am sure a huge success and my grandson and I were amazed by the warmth , friendliness and camaraderie of all those devotees present. Although very much a `learner` of the wonderful banjo instrument I did not feel overwhelmed by the vast majority of very proficient players around me. The concert was something I will always remember and I was totally mesmerised by the performance of the Kruger Brothers in particular. Erin Hand Built Bouzouki. Steve Noon told me this bouzouki would be the best I have played and that all my friends would be amazed by the clarity and volume. He was dead right! I have had this bouzouki for about two months now and it just gets better. The workmanship is top notch and the woods used are the very best. Most bouzoukis go out of tune as you go up the finger board but this stays in better than any I have heard even though I have it strung in octave. I thoroughly recommend this beauty but be quick because when Steve Agnew becomes better known his instruments are going to cost mega-bucks. Stephen Swoffer.

What a pleasure it was to meet Greg and Janet Deering and for Greg to play the Black Diamond Banjo for me. This was for me the chance of a lifetime and I am absolutely delighted to have bought the actual Banjo that Greg himself played. Buying this banjo was a big thing to me. It is a real gem, looks and sound great and is so much easier to play than any other banjo I have ever owned. I just have to keep opening the case and looking at my Deering Banjo just to believe I really do own one, and then of course it just has to be played! We all enjoyed our visit to your wonderful shop - an Alladins Cave with a genuine family run atmosphere. Hi Steve Just a note to say how much I appreciate the work you did fixing the warped neck on my banjo. As you are probably unaware, I have recently been gravely ill for several weeks leading up to 2 major operations. I have yet to fully recover. One of the methods that were instrumental (forgive the pun) to my recovery was playing my banjo, whose beautiful tone and life affirming sound made what should have been a very depressing time much more bearable. It was a really great day, with a jaw-droppingly good line-up of players (my wife is consequently now a convert!) . . . and of course the wonderfully unassuming Greg D, the Leo Fender of the banjo world - as a guitar player, I can't think of a better tribute. The whole event was very well organised and the ambiance, conversation and entertainment were fantastic. - It would be easy to run out of superlatives trying to describe it. Being so new to the bluegrass banjo, it was an uplifting experience to see and meet so many people of differing abilities. It was a memorable occasion, and I do count myself honoured to have met with the famous (but so very human) Greg and Janet Deering. (It's great to see how much they stress that they form a team.) hi Steve, just a few words of thanks the way you changed the banjos for me. It is refreshing to see that in these "modern" times that there is someone who gives a ---- about things. I did enjoy my trip down there yesterday, or should I say I enjoyed it once I arrived. I am not used to driving on these Grand Prix motorways you have down there!!! I don't think I will buy another banjo from you again as I don't think I will ever change it, this John Hartford is awesome. and maybe it is the way it has been set up but does sound a hell of a lot better than the first one. I sat down today and played it and tunes were just flowing from it. Steve you are in my opinion simply the best ,better than all the rest better than anyone....... hey simply the best... How's your sore throat? Well done on your commendation from Deering.I did enjoy Greg's presentation, it certainly gave me a few tips on set-ups etc... anyway I had to get back home as my mum is in hospital after a fall and hurt her back, my son's wife's expecting any day now, does this sound like a country/western song? I am going to put a review on banjo hangout on this banjo sometimes soon, (even as a novice) This banjo actually plays itself, Steve thanks again, after playing another two banjos over the last couple of years this is an absolutely wonderful instrument. Thanks to all at Eagle music for a great day out at the Deering Banjo Event. The guest playing spots were a lesson in banjo playing, not often you see so much talent under one roof. The talk by Greg was very interesting, answered a lot of questions. Maybe you will do it again sometime as banjo" recitals" are somewhat of a rarity. Thanks again. At Christmas I bought my son a Tanglewood 3/4 Les Paul copy and the chap spent quite a bit of time setting it up. Today I bought a basic kit to practice with my lad and again got time and effort from the bloke even though it was a starter outfit. When he learned I liked bluegrass he took me through the basics of banjo playing. I'm not normally given to handing out compliments (much prefer a good moan) but it was a standard of service you don't see much nowadays. Even got offered a drink on both visits.
