THE CONCERT

Saturday 7.00pm - 10.30pm
The ‘Kruger Brothers’ in Concert at The 'North Light Gallery'.

The Kruger Brothers ... Originally from Switzerland but now living in North Carolina USA have been performing professionally since 1973. After playing together in various formations throughout Europe, Uwe Kruger on guitar, and Jens Kruger on banjo, teamed up with bassist Joel Landsberg to form the band as it appears on stage today. This trio has taken the banjo, guitar, and bass far beyond the stereotypical and their music defies classification in any particular genre. However, their sound is rooted in classic American Bluegrass and Folk but is all their own, imaginative and adventurous and very melodic.
Kruger Brothers performances are exciting, calming, entertaining and spontaneous all-in-one, exhibiting their sheer joy in playing music. Although each of these musicians has earned high credit for his skills individually, it is the interaction of the three together which makes their music so uniquely special. Add to that their personal musical development, along with their Classical European musical influences, and you have acoustic string music performed with a rich new flavor.
The Krugers have been appearing regularly in the United States since 1997 at such prestigious events as, Merlefest, Doc Watson Music Fest, Wayne Henderson Festival, Walnut Valley Festival, Greyfox, Festival of the Bluegrass, Wings and Strings, IBMA, Festival for the Eno, Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival, WEFest, as well as numerous other festivals. Hundreds of Arts Council and Theatre concerts, plus appearances on national and international radio and television, have earned the Brothers the love of audiences and the respect of the music industry worldwide. Since moving to North Carolina permanently in the fall of 2003, the Kruger Brothers are performing year-round throughout the United States, Europe and the rest of the world.
Their exemplary talent shines on their recorded CDs and performances from the sublime, Music for the Spring: A Romantic Serenade for Banjo, Guitar, Bass & Orchestra, to the ridiculous, Don't Monkey 'Round My Widder. Ever master entertainers, their performances are characterized by virtuosity, innovation, humor and audience participation. Music for the Spring is now available on their new CD, The Suite.

They have been performing together for over a decade  and are now well established on the UK acoustic bluegrass and traditional music scene. They perform a wide variety of music with great energy and fine musicianship.
