Gibson
Gibson' is named after it's founder Orville Gibson who was born in the year 1856. In the late 1800s he started making stringed instruments in Kalamazoo, Michigan USA. Soon after the launch of his business he entered into an agreement with local investors which led to the launch of the Gibson Mandolin-Guitar Manufacturing Company on October 11th 1902. Orville continued building mandolins and guitars until his death in 1918.
